Thanks! That helped out a lot actually.
The next part is modding the 6 digit hex number that was mentioned in this thread. I'm looking at the 3 yellow highlighted numbers and the name that comes across in the right hand side when I searched for my weapon name. Is the number right next to the three highlighted numbers the one that determines the number of effects?
I've looked at the other link that xpgamesaves did, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which hex governs the amount of effects and which one governs the actual effects themselves. Also XPG said that there should be ones that I need to delete first, so I'm trying to figure that out as well.

Each item effect is followed by "00 FF FF FF FF" which makes them easy to identify. they also tend to be in the order they would show in game, for example +crit effect that appears on rogue gear will be the top entry.
One problem ive had is that certain effects dont appear with the others and dont add to the effect count, so far they have all be things that add armor or a % of armor.
Another problem ive had is that i cannot actually add effects, even adding in the extra code and adjusting the effect counter the save seems to remove itself from the ingame list. I think there may be a cap on how many effects a type of item might have, or i may be doing it wrong.
What does work however is changing the entries already there. This is more than you need anyway, as the effects can get ridiculous, (my shock spell hit for nearly 800,000 damage yesterday)

max 9 effects for PC, i think. Otherwise it will just crash. It might crash anyway on the first try to load modded game, but load the game upp from scratch again and try loading, it just might work the second time (i donĀ“t know why), it worked for me.

Is there a simpler way to edit items instead of this hex editor thing? When I finally found my save files and saw a bunch of numbers I felt awfully intimidated and terrified to even touch anything in there.

Can anyone advise how to I count when the item code starts?
I can find the name of the item, but I do not know where can I start editing the code.
