You can now purchase the original version of this game from GOG and enjoy the retro thing while waiting for the newer version to be released.
There are also cheats for it which I will post once I've confirmed they still work.

oh i remember the original syndicate :P that was AWESOME!
i also remember how i managed to screw up the second mission by running over the eggheads i was supposed to persuade with a car i just jacked (oops sooo sorry mr scientist)

Just in case anyone still wants the cheats for the GOG.com version, here they are (Use them as company name at start of game):-

Cooper team: Full cryo chamber, all upgraded to V3 mods, 1000000000 money, all research, all weapons, attack any country (PC version only)

Rob a bank: 1000000000 money

Nuk them: Attack any country

Own them: All countries are yours

Watch the clock: Time passes very quickly

To the top: Attack any country, 1000000000 money, all research. Original cryo chamber though, and no pre-modified agents

I first played Syndicate Wars on the Commodore 64 it was awesome Shame I killed that computer.

i remember my brother having this game a couple years after it was released back in the 90s,(syndicate plus). man, i would have like two teams of soldiers, waiting for cops to show up, so i would position one team in front of a cop, and the second team behind the same cop.
