So its starting to sound like it is working for those who downloaded from Origin, but not those who installed of a disc in origin (where it displays a download, but is actually unpacking and installing from the DVD). I know I installed off the disc, as its certainly faster than downloading the entire game.
May have to reinstall myself if that is discovered to be at issue..
I thought the Steam one also doubled as the retail one as well. I know in the trainer description it says Retail/Steam version of the game.
I'm being cautious using the new trainer for Origin, but it seems to be working. At least I have plenty of gold now. I'm crashing frequently, but that has nothing to do with the trainer. It's my computer. I crash in other games too.
Hrm... How have you got it to work?
Nothing happens on my end. Using the trainer just causes crashing for me.
I had originally downloaded from Amazon. But the installer wouldn't work, so I redownloaded from Origin. The trainer added Tuesday for Origin, works fine for me. You do have to follow the trainer information very carefully for where to use the keys, and when. You can't tell if the keys have worked until you exit and re-enter the menu. For the skills and abilities, as soon as I started using the ones I gained from leveling, the keyed points showed up, in the skill and ability windows. For experience, you have to go kill something to get experience for your added experience to show up.
Just follow the text in the downloaded trainer zip file. The instructions are quite clear.
Well no, as several people have stated having used it and not seeing results whatsoever. I tried just about every option myself with none working. I guess I'll try repairing the install through Origin to see if it changes whatever needs to be changed from the retail version.
Hopefully repairing the install will work, and it will be quite clear whether the trainer will only work from a downloaded Origin version and not the retail disc.
Post if that works for you. If it does, I will do that first thing when I get home today.

I have been using Cheathappens trainers for 5 years now (see my join date? 2007?). I think I know how to use their trainers which ALWAYS requires a read of the included text file because every game is not the same.
Give me SOME credit.
If you read these posts MANY Origin users cannot get the trainer to work. And we suspect it has to do with Disc vs Downloaded installation. I, in fact, did install with a disc not a download.
Assuming someone does not have the intelligence to read the instructions.... Yes, I admit that there are plenty of idiots out there, but still, you shouldn't assume.
