Over a year after release and still no hand out, no free trainer for any game versions.
I've observed this in just about every release in the last couple of years. One wonders if any new trainers ever become free anymore. What is the age required for a game's trainers to have gotten "cold" enough to go free?
Now, I don't mean to preach that are we due anything for free. But cheathappens does have a reputation - both for great trainers and for generosity, offering a limited selection of free trainers for relatively recent games.
Back when I registered, I used quite a few. The best trainers I've enjoyed, until then and since. And they were for releases not that old. I don't tend to play the latest games, they tend to be from a year to several years old - this is true both nowadays and back then in 2008.
Now, I'm sure if I want to use the same trainers, they remain free. And it's not that I don't replay old games. But it's not often. Bottom line, I used to find a fair share of trainers I sought right here, so satisfied I was I wanted to register, to join the boards, engage in the community. I found and still find the website pleasantly designed. But now I've also found myself thinking why why this site remains among my few homepage bookmarks, why I still come hoping I might find what I wanted as I once did find.
I can imagine this being taken as selfish, as the rhetoric of a leecher, since it's based on the premise of something for nothing (nothing of monetary value, that is).
So I want to remind you that my point is, what was once, is now no more. This may sound unjust, but it does seem CheatHappens isn't as generous as it once was. It doesn't deny they're great at what they do, but it does mean they're lesser than they were.
Considering the site is registered since 2001, I doubt the case from 2008 was to gain popularity and captivate more users and potential costumers, already 7 years after launch.
I can only imagine they weren't profiting - or profiting enough. Increasing greed does tend to occur in businesses that prove profitable, we see it everywhere, everyday - it landed us on this long lasting global crisis.
I don't mean to accuse so much as comment. I'd like to know if it's worthwhile to visit this website anymore.
Incidentally, in case it matters at all, for curiosity's sake if nothing else, what I want out of a Civ5 trainer is merely a way to increase troop movement points as the game's proving frustratingly sluggish.
I'd rather play fair, at least on my first match, and I wouldn't mind if not for the lag spikes, usually occurring during the AI's turn, but sometimes on mine too.
And even then I would mind but not so much if the game didn't have the deadline of 2050 AD. At this rate, I'll win merely by highest score rather than a proper victory - diplomatic, cultural, etc.
What I want for my civ, regarding the others:
