Well, speaking of computer program issues, my girlfriend is having issues that I cannot fix.
She's using Windows 7, and whenever she signs in, her background is replaced by a white screen, the taskbar sets itself to autohide, and Aero is turned off entirely.
After rooting through, it seems that windows has disabled the DWM, or Desktop Windows Manager. I have tried everything I can think of, but I cannot turn it back on. I have gone into all the settings, and it should be enabled, but it isn't.
Eventually, I got it to a point where the taskbar is clear, but she cannot change the color, and in "Personalize" where she should be able to change the color, it opens the Windows basic options.
She's had the computer for like three weeks. It's an ASUS laptop. I wasn't with her when she bought it, and I forget what model it is. Anyways, if anyone could give me a clue as to what's going on, I'd really appreciate it.
Btw, the first time it happened, we clocked her laptop back. It was working fine for a while, and the issue just keeps coming up.
Change the power plan to something other than Power4Gear Power Saver. My ASUS laptop does this exact same thing when I set the power plan to this (and it does save a ridiculous amount of power).
