just a few days ago I had the editor working 3.3.3 now I try and load it, it cant find starwars kights of the old republic 2 the sith lords in editor at late I had the game as a disk copy and I then buy this game on steam I was trying to clean up my pc so I am not sure what happened that it can't find it it found starwars the kights of the old republic 1 just fine. but every time I find it on the file where it is it says something like this " attempted to read end of dialog.tlk " something to do with strings I am guessing I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and made sure there was no mods changing the files and still it wont find the game weird

the editor will work with the steam version of the game, but it is more of a hassle. the editor automatically assumes the kotor and kotor2 directories are in C:\Program Files\LucasArts\, which is where they are located for the retail(disk) version of the game, but for steam the game's directory is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common.
to change the path that the editor uses to find the save games you need to open the editor, right click on The Sith Lords, and select Change Path for The Sith Lords. from there select My Computer > Local Disk C:\ > Program Files(x86) > Steam > SteamApps > common > Knights of the Old Republic II.
give the editor a minute to load up the savegame(s) and proceed to edit the save(s)
Unfortunately, once you close the editor, it will not save the path to the steam KOTOR2 directory and instead revert to the default directory again...this means every time you want to edit a save you will have to direct the editor to steam's KOTOR2 directory.
