from my experience, when i add someone in steam, it's just sends a request. No where to leave a comment.... It isn't facebook lol
Your Chat/Friends list name is not your Steam ID.
Goto Community in Steam, Edit my Profile
Under Custom Url, Choose a Unique name and hit Save.
That is the ID used for people to add you
Keep this in mind when posting your Steam ID.
