Does anybody know how to activate the console cheats in the Steam edition of RTCW? I've added the standard "+set sv_cheats 1" to the launch options but it just generates a message saying that sv_cheats is read only.

    Ideas?

You have to edit the file using a hex editor to change the byte next to sv_cheats to 01. If you cannot use a hex editor then you cannot use cheats in Steam version.

The launch option needs to be:
    +set sv_cheats "1"
The "s are necessary for it to work.

Hoping you'll get back to us on that eventually. Which file are you talking about?
