FOR ANY1 HAVING CRASHES DURING MAP TRANSITIONS.. TRY THIS (WORKED FOR ME)
elo.. ive tried all the fixes/drivers etc etc and its running super smooth and looks nice now
but i still get the crashing 4 out of 5 times during the transitions.. and it never let me go into mutant bash tv until i just by chance tried something else.. might not work for every1 but it seems to work all the time for me now..
what i do .. just before i go into a map transition i quick save it (usually doesnt crash) then enter the new map (it crashes) then instead of reloading my save i go continue campaign and it seem to work evertime.. its like besides the quicksave i did i stores some other info telling the game im on the OTHER map now just b4 it crashes.. so when i continue campaign it doesnt have to do the transition..its like i was already on the map kinda of thing.. so it doesnt ever seem to crash
not sure if it will work for every1 else but thought i post it just incase it helped 1 more person heh
cheers
This is one of those odd situations where the silly idea works. I use this idea of using Quick Save(F5)and it often works. Granted, in BashTV there is no save, but elsewhere except for Sewers it seems to work. Why? Beats the hell outa me, but it keeps me playing.
I'm on my 2nd play through and still having a blast.
Yeah, I just got up to the Mutant Bash TV section, had only had about 2-5 CTD's up till that point (only?!), then hammered out the MBTV run aaaaannnnnd CTD. Okay, no biggie, just reload the game, continue as normal. NO DICE. So I've been tuck there since about 2pm yesterday. More than slightly annoyed.
I'd been using the aforementioned quicksaving trick practically the instant I knew there was a problem with CTD's. It's been a lifesaver. Basically saw there was a quicksave option, was all like "awesome, just like back in the day" and use it like every 5-10 minutes.
For the record, up until MBTV all my CTD's were more-or-less completely random, and therefore more-or-less tolerable. While most of the graphical issues can be attributed to hardware, drivers, and the like, this is not so easily dismissed. I really hope that iD gets a patch out in the next day, because I've been enjoying the game a lot up until now, and this is just frustrating.
I think at this point its pure dumb luck to escape Mutant Bash TV. I'm on my 2nd play through and it took me 7 runs to finally make it out.
