God I wish they would too. I hate competing on race tracks, but I dont mind going from point A to B. Just wish I could buy the guns for the buggy.

I don't mind the races but I wish they wouldn't be part of the campaign. I tried a race where you use weapons and it seems even though you destroy a car it respawns a couple of seconds later. I hate that. I think that if you destroy a car that car should be gone. That way if I destroy all of them I win the race by eliminating the competition.

I generally suck at racing in video games but I had no trouble with the trainers vehicle armor option.

To be forced to race in order to progress in the game truly sucks. As others have said some are good at this and others are not I happen to fall in the latter category. I might add I honestly think this is a console port to boot...

I haven't played the game yet, but I actually remember one of the devs saying that: "Races are completely optional!"...
I'm sure that's what they said, at least that the races aren't neccesary to progress the story-line.
Oh well, guess I'll find out soon enough (I don't really like racing.)

All mini-games including races are easier if you use a controller. Xbox360 is pretty much a must for PC gaming nowadays. Besides that, the races have really low pass thresholds. All time limits are like 10 seconds away from a normal finish with even 2-3 mistakes like crash or bump. Give it a few more try or use different controlling scheme. If you can survive the shooting from id software games, you will survive the racing in this game.

I know. I'm only middle aged, but after breaking both hands in different places over a 20 year Army career, I'm not as coordinated as I once was. It would be nice if the developers stopped to remember that not all of us have the reflexes of a 10 year old anymore. It looks like another 60 dollar loss on a game that ought have been able to play, even if it is on the easy settings. I am thinking I ought have taken the wife out to dinner and a show, instead.
