first of all its not steam that developed it. steam are simply the distribution network. so stop *****ing about how steam ruined the game because its the DEVELOPERS that screwed up.
Developer(s) Techland Publisher(s) Deep Silver Distributor(s) Valve Corporation, Square Enix (for North America),Spike (for Japan)
Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.

i have to say, im not a fan of steam either. if i pay for a game, full retail, not a pirate, i want to be able to play it on my computer whenever i want to. not be stopped by having to connect to them to verify it every time.
and i am afraid they are at fault. they are the distributors yes, but due to their assinine way of having to connect and update wether you want to or not, they dont allow you a choice. they are also the only actual point of contact for the game. ergo: they have to assume the responsibility.
and yes, it screwed up 2 of my alt saves, and repeated contact with steam (in which you laughingly have to open a seperate "Complaints" account) have proved fruitless.
So for sheer annoying, frustrating, time wasting, overly controlling and infuriating method of gaming control , i am going to have to say :
Yes... Blame Steam.
