Lol did you forget to press the NumLock button first?
And a trainer bug report. Now for the first time I got the ACTIVATED DEACTIVATED endless loop in the game. It happened sometimes in Crysis 2, now I get it here too.
When it happened, my character started moving around all over the place without me pressing the directional buttons. Just a random spot around the area I'm supposed to look for Teddy in.
This is happening to me too! I get an endless loop of "activated" after trying to activate the skill points. I had to press the "7" key several times for the skill points to appear when I was leveling up, then it seemed like it got stuck and I wound up with like 1800+ skill points. After a save it went down to about 900, but the sound is still there. The game still works, but it's very annoying. I tried deleting the working files and then re-unzipping them but I still have it. I tried pressing the alt button and saving (both control and alt keys seem to turn off the sound), but through multiple saves I still have it. As soon as I activate the trainer with F1 now I get the sound loop of "activated". I even tried looking for a way to turn the sound off, but the game doesn't have that option and playing without sound would be no fun.
Is there a solution for this? I don't know if its the game or the trainer... probably the game, but it's there and it's annoying.
Update: I went back in and took my modified files out of the "Documents-DeadIsland-out-Settings-Data-SKILLS folder which I originally had set up on the hint provided in one of these threads, and just put it in the (same path) DATA folder which someone else said was correct for the STEAM version of the game, which mine is and the looping stopped. The mods still seem to work as well as the trainer.
So it was my file placement and NOT the trainer OR the game that seems to have caused the sound loop problem. Your mileage may vary and all that!
