Dead Island Message Board  

I can't play without the trainer if this stuff keeps happening but I completely lost all my characters levels! I was using an xbox controller, smashing some zombies with other players and bam... all the sudden I'm in some kind of no clip mode and I can see the whole freaking map! I could just float to where ever I wanted to ... well more like a fly mode I didn't test the clipping. Now as cool as it sounds, it turns out it wasn't! My character ended up level 1.

I've read that this happens if you leave the game while in clipping mode.

I'm guessing from what you're saying noclip can also be accessed by a combination of controller buttons aswell.

Well, I was trying to use the keyboard to chat when it happened so I don't know...

If you press Y it goes into noclip mode. It isn't a gamebreaking issue. Neither is it exactly a glitch. It seems from what I have read that on Steam they accidently released the developer version instead of retail. Now I may be wrong but that is what I have read off of the recent news for Dead Island on Steam. Hopefully they fix this issue soon. I do not know if this is happening with retail versions though.

Yes the developer build, they couldn't have f***ed this up any worse than this, well actually they could. Many had high expectations for this game and the developers just blew it.

well steam just released a new 76MB patch, here's hoping it all works how it should now.

Course, now it killed my savegame.
And it killed my DLC.
And it won't play in offline mode.

*sigh* my enthusiasm for this game is being sorely tested.
