Yeah, haha. You have to play it like a regular shooter almost to save her. I was invis and stealth killed a few but after a certain point I just had to start shooting them all.

That's good to know! I only played it through 3 times so far, and was mostly using the sniper rifle to take them all out at the crash site, but given this information I will take it to them more harshly and swiftly with a cloaked frontal assault and full auto weapons and grenades.

To the three previous Maliks... I never meant to let you die. My bad! I'll save you next time.

Try saving before that point too, so you can load it if you fail. And, I don't really care about the pacifist achievement to want to go to the trouble of keeping them all alive. I gotta wonder though, isn't boss battles extremely tough if you can't use regular guns? I mean, trying to take them down without killing must be tough.

You're allowed to kill the bosses. It states that explicitly in the achievement description. Note for the final boss:

    Spoiler:
You're not allowed to kill the Hyron drones (the women in the pods) or the crazed Belltower soldiers so be sure to have a supply of non-lethal weapons before you go in. Zhao herself you can kill and still get the Pacifist achievement - I used a rocket launcher.

As for the fight to save Malik, I managed it without killing anyone (on my second playthrough using prior knowledge) by having a heap of healing supplies, a couple of gas grenades, and by drawing fire from the soldiers. You might want to prioritize the two guys with heavy rifles first, and remember to always have an EMP grenade for that freaking box bot.

Actually I think the Hyron drones are counted as part of the boss battle. I used the code Darrow gave me to shut down them down, which I'm sure cuts off their life support, and I still got the Pacifist achievement.

If you use the code Darrow gave u it doesn't count as you killing the drones.. But shooting them the old fashioned way does. However, there is an easy way to skip all that. Just use a laser gun on Zhao. It'll pierce thru her shield. About 50+ worth of charge is enough if u aim for her head.
