Firstly: Achron has a build in editor in which you can do pretty much anything with the campaign maps, etc. like adding more troups for example.
Secondly: it comes with mod tools, and 1 tool is the one we need for editing base stats for troups,weapons,vehicles etc.

what ya have to do is this

go to the game folder and make a new folder : call it XMLfiles
copy/paste in that folder 2 files from the game folder named:

archon.ocs and resequenceXMLcompiler.exe

drag/drop archon.ocs over the resequencexmlcompiler
and it will extract the ocs file in to a xml file named achron.ocs.xml

Now you can edit the xml with notepad or notepad++ or with any xml editor.
Of course you need to know the names of the troups ,items, etc
which you can look up when you start the in game editor, and look at the names of the things you want to change, and make a note of it.

Then in notepad or xml editor, in the archon.ocs.xml just do a search for those names and edit what you want to edit.

After you are done just do the opposite of the 1st steps
drag/drop the xml file onto the compiler and a new archon.ocs will be compiled with your new settings:

Next you will have to copy/paste the new archon.ocs file again in the gamefolder itself but this will overwrite the original file, so always make a backup first of archon.ocs.

Also as always dont do to much changes in the ocs.xml at once because wrong values can crash the game.

Well the .xml hack didn't work for me, when the file was recompiled there was a long list of script errors.

Then when I run the game my mouse hangs frequently, and the three things I changed didn't make any differance with the tank, it died rather quickly...

If you want to post your version of the xml as a cheat sure would be appreciated.
