I don't know if you guys realize it, but OnLive require that you purchase the OnLive equipment to play. Also, isn't it kinda pointless for a brick-and-mortar store to sell games like that without informing the retail?
that the same as i'm selling something that is similar to my business.
FYI: I hate steam. there are time when i can't connect online, but i can't EVEN play my games i purchase legally unless i connect online.
and why DO we even need to install steam? we might as well as hand our desktop/laptop to the government and tell them we have pirated games on it. what happen to the good old days of serial number, games, lan, and more important, Game Data and Install Data? this is why i'm starting to hate pc games. RTS games has already suffered...
Paranoid much?
Considering you basically just admitted to having pirated games on your system, isn't stating that on an open, public forum sillier than installing Steam based on your opinions?

This... lol Though... there are people who would post that they just committed a crime on facebook and then be surprised when the police show up... *shrugs*

First; The topic was never really about Onlive or what that coupon was for, but I suppose I see how the conversation could easily get steered that way. Second; I do sort of agree that Steam is aggrovating. I don't like being forced to have extra software on my PC in order to play the game I just bought or having to have a permanent online connection, but in the very same comment you help to validate it by implying that you steal games. You have some nerve. One thing I will also say about Steam that I like is that you don't need to keep the disk in the disk drive after installing it. I'll admit that two times I did download a so-called "pirated" game, but only because they were very obscure titles and weren't available for rent and I didn't know if they would turn out to be good or not. One time I was glad I didn't pay for it, because it turned out to suck so bad I didn't even finish it. However, the other game turned out to be good, so I bought a legit copy. That aside, it's because of thieves like you that honest PC gamers have to put up with these aggrovating forms of DRM.

This post sounds more like a complaint towards the proprietary DRM software that has an unusual amount of control over his games (i.e. forced updates) rather than admitting he has pirated software. I know many people that are not fond of Steam (or digital download managers in general).
