Deus Ex: Human Revolution Message Board  

I'm barely a few minutes into the game and I am already having a serious problem. When talking to one of the NPC's the game crashes when I select the left responses. This seems to be the case with any of the characters.

Okay... this is getting really frustrating now. A couple times I've managed to get past the problem one way or another and at times it seems like the problem just goes away briefly. The game instantly closes when I choose the left conversation choice whenever talking to an NPC. Also, I'm having a problem with the merchant in the chinese "hotel". He won't acknowledge me, I got him to once, but that was it. It seems weird to me that no one else has mentioned having this problem. I mean why would it just be me?

Maybe you have outdated drivers or a driver conflict or something. I've never heard of this problem before.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. My drivers are up to date already and I'm not even sure how my drivers would effect the problems I'm having though. If the game hadn't already been out a while without others having the same problem I would swear it was a major bug in the game itself, but clearly something else is going on. Steam automatically patches the game too, so the game is definitely up to date.

Might be an issue with you computer or install. No Such problems like that yet. But then agian hard to copy what your getting with out knowing what you did or doing or specs like but who knows until others post about same issue I think you might be stuck.

I had the issue of the non talking merchant, I also have an issue when trying to combine upgrades with certain weapons.

What are you doing when you are trying to combine the upgrades? Is mega items on? Oh and the upgrades can only be used on certain weapons and only for a certain amount of times.
