Fallout: New Vegas Message Board  

I'm looking for the Alien Blaster, my guide says "Asyou close in on the area just north of Horowitz Farmstead. What looks like a Mercanary Camp from a distance turns ingo an extra-terrestrial landing. Complete with spacecraft, and three aliens! Deafeat the Captain to take his unique Alien Blaster." I found Horowitz Farmstead and kept bearing north till i hit a mountain and went up it as far as i could and found a small camp and some mercs to kill, but no aliens or alien blaster. Am I following the wrong guide, is the alien blaster only obtainable in the PS3 and or 360? Or is the alien blaster only obtainable during the side quest Hovering Anomalie? And if so, where or whom do I get the quest from?

Your character must have the trait "Wild Wasteland" or else the weapon will not appear. It will be replaced by a unique gauss rifle.

Also, the wiki provides this warning:
If switched to the Wild Wasteland trait in the Old World Blues add-on and you have already obtained the YCS/186 gauss rifle, the alien blaster will still remain unobtainable.

If the blaster is unobtainable for you, you can use the console cheat to get it anyway:
- Press the ~ button to open the console
- Type player.additem 4322 1 (the 1 is for 1 blaster)
- Press ENTER
- Type player.additem 29364 1000 (1000 is for 1000 ammo clips)
- Press ENTER and press the ~ button to close the console
- Check your inventory that everything is okay, then save your game and exit.
- Restart the game and achievements / goals will be reactivated. (they deactivate whenever you open the console, even if you do not type a code)

It was one of the traits you could choose back when you were starting when Doctor Mitchell healed was asking those questions.

I believe you can also get it in level ups, but I'm not sure about this.

i don't remember that being one of the options, is this trait obtainable based on the anwsers i give, and if so what anwsers should i give in order to obtain the wild wastelander trait?

wild wasteland is pickable when he asks for your "medical" history if i dont remember wrong its the very bottom one.

you could create a mod with the official geck tools which allows you to get both :P
