nope, it does not work on 1.0 or 1.1

they only value you can change is the creature you can buy from castle, so you can set them all to 9999, but u cant change exp, gold, resources, they all reset even if you lock the values
looking for gold cheat now as i already have the creatures and i have an enemy at the gate and do not wish to replay 16hours on this map :P

Finally had some time to play this game again.
I just found, that you can edit hero stats very easily in CHE.
They memory of the stats are FLOAT in 1.1.31785
For explamle magic power is 2, after level up is 4.
But you have to count magic power WITHOUT bonus from skill and items.!!!
Then you can change this to 200. Your hero is now uber deadly mage, with much mana

EDIT: If you have hero already and dont want spent much time finding adress here is little trick:
Find Actual mana value (Float)(right-click on hero pontrait).
When you have actual mana adress, defenze is -564 bytes before. (just use calculator with HEX), atack value is -578 bytes before mana.
This way is very easy to make some uber heros for fun.
Btw: BIG Disappiontment, that much of the spells are not very affected by magic power . Only ice bolt rulez

I love this game, but it has always stod against me in every decision i make , just wished there was a way for me to make the Ai much weaker, but all the trainers is for Unlimited Members .
