Has this function been investigated to no avail already?

I've been dinking around with 'CoSMOS 5.5' and been getting all sorts of strange results when trying to lock or increase accumulated skill points for the four heroes of any campaign. From two points, spend a point, search next by decreased, spend a point, search next, undo, search next by increased by two points. Just throws strange figures at me when I narrow it down to about 20 results and either spend a point or undo. It's something that might take me more than just an evening of playing around with.

Don't search by an increase or decrease in number, just increased value and decreased value.

Also bear in mind that the values may be encrypted, so although your points are decreasing the encrypted value may be increasing instead.

So you can also look for changed and unchanged values, obviously when you first start the scan thats your unchanged value and when you spend a point search for changed, and when you undo search for unchanged.
