Origins is mostly terrible because EA has been trying to create a "Steam killer" for years, releasing a new iteration of their download manager every year. I can stand having Origin as a companion, like a "use our service if you don't want Steam" deal, but pulling Crysis 2 from Steam and ONLY offering it on Origin? Pulling the original Alice HD remake the day Madness Returns is released on Steam? I don't even want to know what they're going to do to Battlefield 3. EA is full of these gimmicks.

Dunno what you're talking about, no game is being pulled off of steam, you can get titles on both Origin and Steam.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Crysis 2 was pulled from Steam: kotaku.com/5811996/crysis-2-pulled-from-steam-now-only-on-eas-origin
I'd heard Alice was going to be Origin only too (as mentioned in the above article), but appearently not.
I don't get it personally, since Crysis 2 is still available on half a dozen other digital distribution services. Who knows how EA's collective mind works.

From what I can tell, the PC version of Alice that comes with Madness Returns is not a remake. It simply offers the choice for higher resolutions. The controls, gameplay, graphics and audio all remain exactly as they were eleven years ago.
