    Anyone having probz with saved games, am on The Rift in The Ruins Quest, progress through the quest, save game, then exit, reload and I am back at the start of the quest and the progress I made is lost.

    OK looks like you have to complete the quest at hand before you can save progress.

    Yeh in order to save game you have to complete quest, auto process, which makes the manual save somewhat superflous.

    Klunky, klunky, klunky.

    @DraconLord,

    Actually, manual saves do serve a purpose. It saves all of your current stats, and items, at the point of save, no matter what stage you're at in a quest. So if you are halfway through a quest, and need to leave, or just want to save your stats in case you die, that's what manual save is for. If you start a quest as a level 7, and rank to level 8, then save, and either fail the quest, or leave in the middle of a quest, when you reload, you would still be level 8, and retain all stats and weapons you had before you saved.

    On the other hand, if you don't do the manual save, and have no auto-saves between when you start the quest, and when you fail, or leave, then you will reload as a level 7, and will have lost any items you found, or stats you modified. So, in short, manual save is pretty helpful.
