Press SPACEBAR after you climb onto the limb and stab it a few times with your left mouse button just spam the SPACEBAR. Ive died about 10x at that scene until i finally caught a glimpse of the 0.5 second SPACEBAR command...

I don't know if it's because I had QTE's disabled, but all I had to do at the Kayran's mouth was press the LMB, same as other "use" commands like blowing up nests.
