"I enjoy the auto update, and the diskless feature. but it just seems to monoploizing to me."

You like the auto update but I don't. If you don't play games for like a year and a half and then want to have some fun. Good luck, it's gonna take ages and your computer is gonna lag like hell once you start steam. Also, in Australia, we don't have unlimited bandwidth. And it's not "diskless". You can buy steam games in boxes and your hard disks are still disks. I like monopolizing because that can actually reduce the price (having too many retailers is just a waste of resources and producing too much risk for too many people) if CORRUPTION DOESN'T/(DIDN'T since it has been always there and no matter what, we just can't eliminate it) EXIST.

"I agree.. I just bought civ V at store and I installed.. but everything was installed to steam.. and I need to be logged to steam in order to ply it. -.-"

Yea, games that I want to play in single player mode still require steam to be opened. If it doesn't affect the performance of the game, that's fine but it does. And it's also annoying. I have to wait for it to log in/ check for updates and file integrity. **** it

"Steam is just a program that lets you download various games from various companies. Its not steam's fault if you download a bad game, or your computer can't handle it (example (my old graphics card couldn't even handle civ 5 on DX9, let alone 10 or 11, but that's not Steam's fault)) face it, just about every gaming company is using steam,"

As retailers they should provide more information about the game before you make the decisions. I hate how those online retailers conceal/(or maybe just miss out, I'm not accusing them of anything) the facts of some of the products. It makes it hard to find products that suit my needs. I was amazed how hard it's to find a pair of football boots that I want online. And in the stores, the salesman don't even explain to you about the differences of the boots. When you ask them, they just go mime.

You do realise that ranting over Steam won't make any difference right? If you don't like it, don't use it, plain and simple. No one is forcing you to.

Technically, Steamworks games can force you to use it, but there are legal ways around it so if you buy the retail copy it's usually possible to circumvent the game installing Steam/run the game without it, though it can be a pain.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would unless they had limited bandwidth or were pirates. I love Steam, and thus far I haven't had any problems with any of my games caused by it.

Steam interferes with the trainers and also nothing but issues.
Why do we need advertisement after purchasing a game ?
If the game doesn't stand alone I'm not buying.

instead of wasting time here go to the game official forums and complain. doubt they care.
Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.

9/10 trainers work on steam. The auto update is just to make your gameplay experience better, so you don't get crashed out of the game when comming across .

If you rather want to search for patches yourself go buy the retail game version, most of the games are cheaper in stores than on Steam.

Just because you're too retarded to use steam doesn't mean it sucks.
