Civ 5 is the first only only game I can't get trainers to work for.
Mass Effect 1 and 2, Fallout New Vegas and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit are just a few that I never had a problem.
I have 8 gigs of ram, so memory isn't a problem.

if it wasnt for steam there wouldnt be PC gaming as we know it. Over $2000 in games on steam and never had issues, a single game I couldnt start on steam no matter how much I tried, i contacted them, they removed the game and refunded my money. so as much as I was wary of steam originally I believe its the best system out there for *me*.

I have no issues with Steam, nor does my dad who is just a plain user and always asks me for help if he has a gaming problem.
He also gets games from Wild Tangent too and has no problems there.
I'm also a Direct 2 Drive customer along with a GoG member, nothing like getting some classics from days gone past

Steam "works". All the games I own on steam work.
My problem with steam is that, in addition to your game you have to run another app. This would not be so bad, if you always had internet access. Some folks still don't always have internet. Your game will still work, you either just have to let steam start up with your system (so that the wasted time is at system startup), or wait for it to time out when you open a steam game.
Other online retailers can sell games that do not require an app.
So yes, Steam does work, it just does not work well in my opinion.

One thing I hate about steam is patching the game to the latest patch and the trainer is not available yet. Also, I cannot choose patch versions. It will just patch to the latest.

please don't make this another "i hate steam" thread. pick your poison steam with unlimited launches/installs (unless the publishers limit it) or like EA 3 to 5 uses of the cd key.
Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.
