Darksiders: Wrath of War Message Board  

Whenever I try to equip the gear it just has the last gear (e.g. horn, shuriken) in the HUD selected slot in game. I try to equip it in the options menu, but still the game won't let me. War is animated with the shooting gesture while the horn is equipped and for me to use the shuriken i have to perform a slash first. I have the STEAM version of the game and it stated that all files have been validated successfully. Please help, I can't kill the sandworm

My son is having the EXACT same problem. Every time he goes to Options and equips Mercy then leaves, Mercy is no longer equipped. He is at the sand worm. Can't kill it when it refuses to let you equip it.

We also have the STEAM version for PC.

Nice to see I'm not the only one having this issue.
It's a pain in the a** If anyone has a fix for this please speak up

I had to restart from a save before meeting the blacksmith (or before obtaining mercy for you). After obtaining it I made sure that in my item select wheel, it was equipped. From there I constantly saved after each progression point because the problem kept persisting throughout the entire game.

The problem is with your game version. I didn't have such a problem and my game was not steam. Update the game or use previous versions.

I'm having the exact same problem. Because of this glitch, I'm stuck and can't kill the first worm boss. Please help.

Same problem. I have removed and reinstalled the whole game but with the same savegame I had no luck

Equip the horn, then go into Chaos form. When you shift back, the equipment change should work. This fixed the horn being stuck and not changing to the crossblade after I got the Tremor glove. It worked again after I got the gun, and the horn stuck again.
I expect to need it when I get the chain, sigh...
