Error 0xc96: STATUS_PRIVILEGED_INSTRUCTION
The most likely causes of this error are: -The game itself is not running as administrator [Both trainer and game must both run as privileged processes or as standard processes]
-You have an improperly configured Firewall
-Your Anti-Virus does not properly shutdown even when disabled (happens on some AV products. This is why I recommend MSE with CHU as it causes the least compatibility problems).
-Your game may have a corrupted installation.
Workaround 1: Start your system in clean boot mode ----- Follow the below Microsoft KB article to start your computer in clean boot mode. Then attempt to run the trainer and game. If they succeed then there is a program that is actively blocking your trainer from working (check Firewall and AV). The KB article has further instructions on how to isolate which program it is.

Workaround 2: Reinstall your application ----- This will rule out any possible conflicts with your game installation. By this I mean completely uninstall the game and reinstall it.
Workaround 3: Update your Windows Installation ----- Use the Windows Update tool in the Windows Control Panel to perform update operations. Updates are very important to your computer system as they both patch security holes and provide additional functions and bug fixes to your computer. Additionally, visit the Microsoft Download Center and get the DirectX End User Installer which will update your DirectX components (very important for games).
As always: Follow every single step in the Trainer Troubleshooting guide regardless of how confident you are of your computer setup (very important to follow every step down to the last detail).

Clean boot seems to have let it work. Now to figure out what's screwing it up.

When in windows press Ctrl+alt+del and show the task manager.
Look at the 2nd tab, with the processes and see if anything weird is running.
Also you can goto start > type in the search box since your windows 7 "msconfig" without the quotes and when the new window pops-up goto the start up configuration to see what is loaded when you start windows - look for any weird filenames etc, if so there could be an infection on your machine.
Failing that you could always try to disable your UAC, goto control panel > user accounts > turn off UAC. That way you dont have to right click everything to run as administrator.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

I got it working. As far as I can tell I have to disable my anti-virus's kernel and it's a ***** to do so. It has self defense built in so it just turns itself back on. NOD32 btw.
My UAC has always been off. But apparently this problem was caused by something blocking the trainer's insertion.

Just add the trainer to NOD32's exception list.

I did and it still doesn't work. Only works if I completely disable it via msconfig.
I was able to play for 5+ hours with the trainer working yesterday and was able to load the saves, now with nothing changed the saves crash immediately upon loading with or without the trainer/antivirus/whatever on. Shrugged and started a new campaign for a few hours, same thing happened at a different point in time after trying to load from a quick save before a battle.
I'm fine with having to disable the AV when I want to play with the trainer, but losing hours of saves sucks.
I appreciate all the help btw.
