The work around to that particular problem is actually quite easy.
When the new PFM editor comes out, open up projectiles, and make a new projectile entry. Give it a range of 600 or whatever. Find a faction unique unit, and modify their projectile entry to correspond to the new one you added.
That way only the one unit has the increased range.
Hmm, I suppose that this could work but you have to be carefull when making new entries and make sure that you have a backup.

Then I am sure you are eagerly awaiting the Shizoku no Sensô mod for Kingdoms, looks like that will be nice. Going to try out the Darthmod for Shogun 2 tommorrow. Still waiting for The Great War to get the kinks out.
That's weird Aliceandcat post that comment not me lol. But yeah i love to see some of those mods released
Hi all!
I downloaded the PFM linked on the first page (for NTW) but it didn't work. I tried editing the infantry's stats in "patch2.pak", "db", "unit_stat_land_table", "unit_stat", but I couldn't even open the file. Tried with "patch.pak" and "data", same thing.
Any help please?
You need the hex editor to edit the units. The current PFM can only extract .pak files and cannot edit anything yet.

My bad, I guess it was Aliceandcat that said that. Thought it was you, so many posts having the same quotes.
Yeah true that's why im trying to edit it, i just finished editing the stats for the special Takeda clan cavalry units, im going to test it out and if it works i'll submit the file here as a new cheat.
If Pwiz decides its ok to put on the website, people will just have to download the file, go to their shogun 2 total war installation folder, then put the file in the data folder and start a new game with the Takeda clan. And then they will have 4 super cavalry units .
I edited these 4 btw:
Takeda Great Guards
Takeda Yari Cavalry
Takeda Katana Cavalry
Takeda Bow Cavalry
I gave them all better armor, more attack damage, more melee defence and higher morale. For the bow cavalry i also increased the accuracy, reload skill and the amount of ammo that they have.

Great file, thanks ! it works like a charm.
Any chance you can modify the unit's upkeep cost too ?
