from what I've noticed, the numpad 0 to add nano catalyst does not work it seems. (SPOILERS AHEAD)
I'm running through the tunnels finding hargreaves scanning equipment and when I use the trainer for the catalyst, I'd say 20k or higher, it shows the number went up, but nothing will unlock for me. HOWEVER, when I kill a ceph and get his nano catalyst, I look up my upgrades and it shot right back down to whatever it was before I used the trainer. when I reach the correct amount of nano for an upgrade the normal way, it unlocks it.
Wonder if the trainer only plays with the number itself? maybe it has a connection to how many ceph you've killed or something.
Everything else in the trainer from what I've played with works absolutely fine, and the nano increase SHOWS it went up, but then it doesn't stay that way, like a second number or counter is hiding in the background checking to see if you really got it the right way...
If you use ArtMoney or CoSMOS to find the values, there are two: the actual amount, and the amount displayed in the upgrade screen. I suspect the trainer only changes the second value, so the points that show up aren't actually worth anything, and reset when you gain catalyst.
I can also confirm it does not work. It adds lots of points, but you still can't purchase for more than you have found in game. And everytime you find more, the number resets to the "real" amount.
A not-so-quick workaround is to get to a point in the game where you can kill aliens, then find the values in ArtMoney or CoSMOS. There are two values, and changing BOTH will allow you to get all the upgrades. The points won't persist after the level is over, but you'll still have the upgrades.
