whats the freakin point of a cd with the retail version when i have to download half of the freakin game from steam

Too bad it is not possible to merge your games with Steam ... thus using steam as a platform instead of the disk one bought

Only a few games support that feature or merge sadly.

I thought you could use the Import CD/License string option under STEAM to tie the game to your STEAM account ?!?

I know that not all keys are recognized by STEAM however but the ones that are you can just use the key and get it downloaded this way.

There are some titles that require STEAM so these would be the games you should purchase directly unless you really want the disc and packaging, maybe a Collectors Edition or something similar

they used steam because of the steam protections and triggers.

so far nobody has cracked dawn of war retribution and this game uses the same protections.

my guess is that more and more online type MP games will use this new protection depending on how long they remain uncracked

I hope not as I realy statring to hate that stupid system. Who would buy a car or music CD in the store, starts the engine of the new car and that freaking thing tells you sorry dear driver but the car is not official released in other coutries so you have to wait 10h until you can make your first test drive...

hmm by cracked do you mean MP cheating? or just cracked as in getting it for free? because i think retribution is already available for download.

DoW2 Retribution cracked releases were out on day one. Homefront is cracked as of today.

But honestly they should do as Ubisoft did with Hawx 2, it hasn't been cracked yet.
