You must talk with all your companion in their 'houses'. In Missions board you can see this. This could be your problem.

Yeah, it was this...thanks a bunch. Apparently, even though I had talked with the dalish elf chick in her house once, I had to talk to her again and listen to some stupid speech about how great the city was because someone got mugged, lmao. the second I completed this I got to the deeproads.
NOW I've got a second question, completely unrelated to this one.
I used the approval cheat debug tool to initiate a romance with Isabella for Hawke, but I'm a bit confused. Right now I'm at the part past the deep roads, where my guy is living like those guys on Cribz, lmao. so I'm wondering how to actually have conversations with my companions. Every now and then something will pop-up where one of my companions will say something. In Dragon Age: Origins you could talk to your companions whenever, and there was a campfire where you could initiate romances.
However, I'm finding the conversations in da:2 to be nearly identicaly to Mass Effect 1 and 2 (literally, the convo wheel is exactly the same, lmao). I can only talk to my companions every once in a while. I thought that maybe if I visited their homes I'd be able to initiate conversation, but this doesn't really ever work.
Is there a point in the game that is similar to the campfire, or, while we're talking about Mass Effect, like the Normandy, where I can just go around and talk to my companions? The game is great so far but I wish the ability to talk to your companions whenever, even in the middle of a zone, hadn't been removed. How and when can I talk to my characters to see if me setting the romance flag worked?
