The demo was good, but the combat is too fast for my liking. I miss the normal combat speed in Dragon Age 1.
I'm with you, Steven283. Still, the action was pretty good and I did a lot of pausing (Spacebar) to slow it down, but it didn't seem to take away from the combat. Maybe it's just my style of play. I'm old school RPG and still fondly remember Baldur's Gate.
I have a low end Nvidia GT 220 graphics card, Intel i5, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and the in-game graphics ran very smoothly, I thought. The effects are very good.
There are a few glitches in loading, esp. during the interrogation between the dwarf and the Chantry Seeker, and a couple other places, but they are momentary (a few seconds).
However, I'm one of those who still can't get over the omission of some of the companions of DAO, like Ohgren. Flemeth and Morrigan make cameos in DA2, true, but not like you can get them in your party.
As for the ME-like conversation wheel, I like the DAO system better. I understand it is a concession to console systems (I'm on PC), so did any console players think it's better?
I'm wondering, though, if there are more abilities, like spells, in the full game, and what happened to "talents"? It's possible I am misremembering DAO, though, hahahaha.

I personally do not care for the newer system, as the combat seems to have turned into button mashing action gaming. If I wanted to play Bayonetta, I would play that game (which I have and is is one of the best ever in that genre). If I wanted to play Rikku, I would play Final Fantasy. The Darkspawn have all the exact same armors and looks and run around with the exact same motions, twirling swords above their heads like a large group of cheerleaders twirling batons in unison.
I know it is the demo, but the characters lacked facial emotion. And WTF kind of sadness was expressed when Hawkes sibling gets killed? It's as if they didn't even know the sibling, same for Aveline's husband, "It's OK, he's dead, let's just go, alright!"
The Mass Effect style dialogue system is black and white, no more do your allies or NPC judge you by your actions or your moral choices. It is there to choose in red or blue renegade/paragon ME style choice wheel and the answer seems to be the same no matter. I will get the game anyway, as I know it is the demo and see how it plays plays out.
I can take the change in graphics, that's OK. I can take the change in looks for the game characters, that's OK. I can even take the this is a different storyline for a different set of characters that are fighting the DS during the same time frame as the Wardens are in Origins. But, if the combat system, dialogue system remain the same throughout the final release, then I would have to say they just appealed to the console gamer, period.
Be fore I get flamed, no, I have nothing against console gamers, because I am one. But it is a fact to what type of gaming the majority of console gamers prefer, that being shooters and action game. They typically cannot be bothered with story-lines and immersion.
i do not know if this is dumb asking for a trainer for a demo or if i should post it her never ask for one before but can a trainer be made for the demo thanks
The game comes out in a week, why would they spend time making one for a demo that is only about 30 minutes long and has serious limitations. You can use the console command in the demo, that I do know.
