What sorts of engineering do you partake in?

I mostly just make train tracks and stations, but I made a huge bridge recently, I'm going to have to adjust it slightly because the minecarts can't get up it with me inside...

I am currently working on a medieval Transylvania, built on a high mountain with lava streaming down every side and underneath, making it accessible only by a bridge. Thinking of making the lava thicker and surrounding it with bedrock to make it untouchable... 8x8x8 just to be sure. Though that would ruin my perfect valley my crescent mountain surrounds. Also getting rid of the bridge and making a 2x1 path down and out.

Got to make sure my loyal subjects don't... wander away.

Me and my cousin made a giant tower and made 3 huge mines connected to our tower by minecart and some boosters. Have videos on Youtube up of our minecart system.

question, how do you make mine track move up and down hills. I am at a loss as to how to do this. Also what are the boosters for?

I am making a huge (huge) arena. PvP Arena!

Ok so for awhile now I've been doing everything by hand. I haven't used any mods at all. But now I want to create stuff with mods. I want to create insane stuff with ease. So, can someone point me in the right direction of what mod is the best (and easiest) to use to create my building and what-not with ease?

I'm not sure of programs to do exactly that...

But here's some that come close...

Minecraft Calc: Link

A basic utility to calculate materials needed to craft what you want, including time to smelt and fuel needed.

Perfect Sphere: Link

Generates blueprints for making spheres and ovoids.

Redstone Simulator: Link

For setting up and simulating Redstone circuits.

I really want to find something to put together a plan for building 2D sculptures...like a giant cthulhu coming out of the water...but haven't found anything.
