Yeah,I think this game wasn't "that" great. Can be good, but surely,it wasn't the best NFS out there.First of all,you can just choose between 6-7 colors for each car, which is GROSS.There were many more colors in NFS:Porsche Unleashed. And then, soundtrack,I can't say it's bad,but in the Underground - Carbon era,the blend of good rock and hip hop songs was half of the game's soul. Now it's just trance-turd,and not that cool electronic hip-hop,some rock songs featured in the game are good for the scene kids(The ones who pretend to be Emo!)...A few songs seemed to have the previous NFS soundtracks' soul, notably, the theme song by 30 Seconds To Mars(Edge of the Earth) and the song by Bad Religion(Resist Stance).Even cops don't chase you in the free ride. The only cool part is busting racers as a cop,and the exotic ultra-fast cars in the game. Pro,or con? Why?

Its because hip-hop and rap sucks and they were smart enough to get rid of that garbage because nobody in their right mind wants to hear that rubbish.

Agreed, hip hop is rubbish but electronica is even worse.

If you ever played any of the original NFS's, you'd know that the soundtracks were composed for the games and consisted mainly of electronica. Hot Pursuit 2 was the first NFS to feature songs not composed specifically for the game.

As for the rest of the game, it reminds me of the original Hot Pursuit mixed with HP2, and it works well.

Like Ghost said. I don't think they promoted it that great to even call it overrated. This game wasn't meant to blow you out of your chair with stunts & graphics but more like a reminder from the good old NFS.
With Shift they reworked the entire base of NFS and now with this they where probably like you know what lets rework a classic and make the graphics better.
I think this is a nice tribute to the old NFS 1 - Old hot pursuit 1 & 2.
Besides spending more time painting your car is fun but good old gaming is also fun. I like the game alot

This game is met as a reminder of the past and how fun it was to just sit down with some friends on the weekend and have fun racing expensive cars we will never own in our lives around these gigantic and beautiful tracks and every once and a while you can blow the doors off the cop cars for fun and see if you can beat them and your friends in an epic race against the law!
