If you are a fan of The original Fallout and Fallout 2, skip Fallout 3 and get Fallout: New Vegas. While Fallout 3 is a great FPS and a fun game, it does not have the "feel" of the original two games. Two of the original team were involved in making New Vegas and it shows.
Now I just need to find the Super mutant to arm wrestle and get my ballgag.
To me FO3 took it to another level. The change they Brought into it was good. The 3D first person n 3rd person system the vats. Even the story line I was good. Ok I have to admit the mother ship Zeta DLC was kinda eh suckie.
With NV they continued the story from FO2 which I love. The change of place is great. I am finding more and more I have the Guide but I aint using it unless am stuck.

Mothership Zeta may be the worst DLC I have ever bought, next to Witch Hunt in DA:O.
I read up on articals that where released on tuesday there.
Some of the replys back to it showed me people are extremly enjoying the game.

I am glad New Vegas is a big success. As things hold up, I hope Bethesda looks to continue their Fallout relationship with Obsidian for future games. As a longtime Fallout fan, I could not be happier with how things have turned out with New Vegas.

With more than five million copies shipped since the game's release, with retailers calling for more. So really its up to yourself how you wana go.

As far as Vorpals opinion, I'd rather have Bethesda do the developing in the next release (of which I believe they are in Fallout 4) than Obsidian. Obsidian already has released some iffy games that didn't go over well outside of Vegas. Anyway, you're going to get those kind of reviews if you cherry pick them out for nothing but praise, that's no different than taking the whole of everyone's opinion's out of context. I bet you can find more that don't like it or mentioned some negatives about Vegas. I have been gaming since the mid-70s (yes I am that old) and I know the Fallouts as well as anyone. This game is not original and like the first two, has lots of bugs. Black Isle (what is now Obsidian) was not into much QA as a developer, but they definitely made great game play and stories.
Seriously though, you've seen many negative responses here (let alone outside of this site) regarding Vegas, including from myself and I am not bashing it because I am just simplifying some dislike of the game. Outside of the bugs, which I did expect, but not this bad.

Black Ops has more than 5 million copies shipped on the first day and the user reviews are ripping it to shreds. I don't see how sales figures are a useful measure of how good a game is especially when there are no new games currently out for people to buy.
If you want an RPG you buy F:NV since it's the only one. If you want a shooter, you buy Black Ops because it's the only one. It doesn't matter that both of them are buggy as all hell on PC (+ XBOX for F:NV and + PS3 for Black Ops).
I could post an equally long list of people saying the game is awful.
From Bethesda's own Fallout: New Vegas forums:
Jeremiah Gorst - "Get yourself a shovel. Go to your nearest desert. Dig a hole. And bury the game there."
Maddriver07 - "Then last week the game starts crashing and or locking up (seems to crash a little different each time) every 20minutes or so."
eric45 - "I installed it, hope, cross the fingers. Play half an hour. 3 crashes. 1 freeze."
Sigurdr - "No other game I now or have ever owned (including FO3) has had this many problems out of the box!
I've tried to enjoy myself and get into the wasteland again, but these random "the instruction at ...memory could not be read" CTD errors, Runtime C++ application errors are getting on my nerves. I have NEVER experienced these issues with ANY game.. EVER!"
Pzyk3 - "'m very disappointed with this one, certainly a **** poor PC port."
derpderpderp - "Bethesda did it again. Even when I thought my expectations could not have possibly been lower since the mediocre FO3 and it's laughable DLC, they managed to amaze me yet another time by taking this game into a new low."
Gene - "Buggy POS. This game is very much in the habit of reverting quicksaves and autosaves to the first one you ever make."
darkmoose - "I do not understand how a self respecting player can give 10 points to this game. 1st It is unarguably buggy, 2nd the story is dull, repetitive, pointless, 3rd if you have any skills at all you will be disappointed how easy the whole game is."
JohnR - "Bugs galore. Very last gen graphics. Animated characters walking in thin air. How about a decent auto save system?"
ikatomas - "I'm giving this a 2. FO:NV feels like Elder Scrolls ported into Fallout 3 and given a slap of user forum content feedback veneer and released while in beta."
Or
How about some professional reviews?
Rockpapershotgun - "It can be hard to tell the difference between a lack of content and an authentically barren wasteland, but sometimes New Vegas is so impressively bold in its laziness that the distinction is clear."
1UP - "I simply can't ignore or forgive the game for crashing on me when I walk around the Mojave Wasteland; or for quests that simply can't be completed because of a game glitch; or for making my companions disappear when I need them the most during a battle. These are some of the most frustrating bugs I have ever encountered with any game, especially when attached to a series that I deeply enjoy."
Gamespot - "However, as time wears on, the constant glitches invade almost every element of the game and eventually grow wearisome."
I can cherry pick reviews too.

Well there's Medal Of Honor, which is equally crappy as COD BO.
COD is just burned out with nothing new in gameplay or style. I passed on it this time.
I have to admit now since the first huge patch and the most recent patch for Vegas that it plays much better. I still get stutters from time to time and I know it isn't my rig, because my rig would blow most rigs out of the water.

Yeah there are those that dont like it cause of the bugs. There are those that feel its not Original. There are those that like it not matter what about the bugs. There are those that feel the game is Original. So like I said its up to you. In all games there is people gona bash the game cause of bugs. But what can I say. Bar than what I know with mine I am very happy. But like I said its up to you the gamer if you wana play it.
