did they say something about an engine change? They just included a few different textures (the original ones were really bad) and removed a few bugs.
Taken from their website:
"Divinity II – The Dragon Knight Saga is an epic role-playing game on PC and Xbox 360, that combines the complete adventures of the legendary dragon Knight.
This incredible RPG includes the entirely remastered and improved version of Ego Draconis, the original adventure of the Divinity II saga. The content of this edition as well as its graphic engine have both been much improved and overhauled, in order to provide a more beautiful and richer game experience!"
They've added a few shader effects and improved lightning. Changing an engine would require two years, no less. I think everyone should stop making a fuss over it. They made a big, fat, mostly lying claim. Get over it. Few shader effects, better lightning effects. Over.
Could you be any more unnecessarily rude? Find somewhere a list of the changes made to the engine, then contradict them and call it a big fat mostly lying claim.
The engine HAS been improved/upgraded. Animations in the distance are smooth instead of jerky sprites, I get higher FPS and absolutely no lag like I did with the original version, the water and its effects have been much improved. Even if they were the only changes made, it'd be well worth it. They're the changes I've noticed so far and I've only walked up the path from the Zeppelin at the beginning of the game.
