Mount & Blade: Warband Message Board  

i just got the game, I didn't have that much time to play it yet, but i tried playing it, i created a character......after the first battle I noticed that i was at this menu/map area, and i could click and move my character around this HUGE map.............However, I thought I would beable to actually be "in the map", like in oblivion and explore around on my horse....

I do NOT want to explore the map in a overhead "super nintendo zelda kind of way"........is this the open world everyone has been talking about? because if it is, it sucks........... probably I am not deep enough in the game or something?

So do i actually get to travel around the huge game world, exploring in third person mode ( not overhead map like in sid's civilization 5 ) ........know what i mean ? How can this be done... if anyone knows what im talking about......

Oblivion like open world = good

Civ 5 (overhead map ) = bad for me

can i explore the map, on a horse with soldiers, and run into bandits, and fight random battles or the works? can i ride my horse towards a castle? and explore the so called open world in third person view and then enter a village/castle/ etc ???

I AM NOT ASKING FOR IT TO BE LIKE OBLIVION ( sigh ), i was reffering to oblivion in respects to its NON over-the-head open world display, ( another example would be that civilization 5 is over the head)..........

I dont think you can run into bandits, but if you use the cheat menu i explained in a thread below, you could "explore" on horse back, different areas. The good part is all the fights, and sieges can be done in third person or even first person, so for the important bits, such as the battles, discussions, you are present. I believe it would be too demanding of the game for the map size to be ridden entirely in 3rd view or 1st person. Anyway hope the "explore" cheat gives you some satisfaction, but alas what you truly seek, im afraid is not available in the game.

Thanks, another question is, why when i export character cheat, set strength to like 9,999 why i still died when attacking villagers .... lol

because if you are not using trainer and put a lot of strength ur life will go too high for the game and it will kill you faster. Just use trainer with cheats & ull be fine.

I thought the trainer for steam is retired? and doesn't work? I have steam version...........

What level of strength should i put to make me really strong, but not bugged? So far I put 200 strength.....is there a better numerical value ?

I believe the perfect Value was 696, alas don't hold me to that.

have you tried 800? is that any good

i tried as high as 999999 but i was using trainer as well... but the game itself revers certain numbers down to 669 as the max
