Hnh, I always thought that was a bug

Yeah I thought at first till I peeked a help file then asked me mates at gameanyone. I was like ah good am only one glitch (The ghost ghoul) compared to everyone elses. I even spoke to me mates at game to. There like no glitches with theres either.

You can save the monorail if you're smart about it. Listen to the spy's entire conversation with his Legion Contact until you get the quest update to stop the monorail explosion.

Then confront him after he's done, kill him to get "history" with Boone for activating his companion quest (Only applicable if you have him hired during the quest), loot his corpse for the deactivation code for the bomb. Make a quick-save before going to the mono-rail terminal, and get inside the monorail car as soon as you can. If you take too long it will leave the station, but it won't leave if you're inside it.

Then use the deactivation code on the bomb behind the vent grate. This should allow you to save the monorail.

Report to General Hsu and you'll have saved the monorail and completed the quest successfully.

This is how I always do it unless I have the explosives or Science skill, then I use that instead of the deactivation code, and it works all the same on my end regardless.

I ran to the mono rail 20 times even speeding up runing. every time I got through the door to the mono rail it would go lol I spoke to others about it an they say the same thing the monorail cant be saved.

I managed to save it, so it can be done it took me way to many tries but it did finally not drive off and get blown up when i used the deactivation code the guy had on his corpse.

All i did was listen to the radio conversation and when i got the follow up i blew his head off looted his items and ran as fast as i could to the monorail and entered the disarm code.

Don't tell anyone that you found someone accessing the tower after you hack the terminal.

I went to try it again and never heard a conversation. I must have missed it when I got in the tower

Yes you can save the monorail. I have done this quest several times. You have to be in the tower during the radio message at 1am. As soon as you hear the whole message you can run to the monorail if your explosives(or is it science) skill is high enough. Or if not confront/kill/pickpocket Curtis loot the info and run like the devil to the monorail to diffuse the bomb.
