Patrician 4 Message Board  

Now that I've played Patrician 4 a number of times, using the trainer which will give you more leway than you actually need to win, I find I donot like the game. It is nothing like Patrician 3 which is easier to play, has better graphics, even if these are 2D, and you can advance much faster. Since the makers of the great Roman games did so well, I assumed they would have a heck of a game for P4. I was wrong. Half the time you can find few if any goods in any city and advancement is harder. I like very little about this new game, even the way it looks. The map is not as clear as P3. When you are in port the cities are usually dark and in shadow. I could say more but that's enough. I just don't like P4 and will continue to play Patrician 3. A much better game in my opinion.

Totally agree. Crappy copy of Patrician 3. Me stupid, downloaded from Steam. Thanks for the Black Friday I didn't paid to much. Horrible graphics compare to P3, you can't build even in your home city etc. Back to old good Patrician 3.

I Build just fine in my home city. I have no issues with the graphics or the game play really. However I have not played part 3 so I will pick it up and give it a try!

I think that Patrician 4 is great! Better than Patrician 3, better music, better graphics, less glitches. For graphic problems update to the latest and greatest drivers and download from our buddies at Microsoft the latest Direct X variations. Best is the software development kit and install the whole "enchilada" then make the "gamma" value the best for your eyes and monitor. Great game , especially with the latest Cheat Happens trainer! Well everyone to his own opinion, I guess and since you run Windows 7 you might have something. I run Windows XP 32 bit, with a gig video card and DX 9 C. But I have no problem with glitches in Patrician III and using a money cheat is all I need. No offense meine friend but I just think P4 isn't as good all the way around as P3 so we shall stick with what we like best. And I am not going out and buying a new XXXX dollar computer to run a stupid game of any kind.

You are correct, we must agree to disagree. I feel that the latest patch to 1.3 and the latest NVIDIA video drivers have really improved the game. It never crashes, music is great, but it does get somewhat tedious after a couple of hours. Have you upgraded to the latest drivers for your mobo,audio and video and also downloaded the latest Direct X SDK? A friend still runs 32 bit version of XP and by doubling her ram ($50), and getting the latest drivers I really improved her rig. Latest trainer from Cheathappens also helps!!
