It can´t be ME2.exe it should be Terraria.exe
    Me2 would be MassEffect2 wouldn´t it?
anyway what version are you running?
    steam? pirated? retail?
plus, make sure you have the right version, Terraria is now running 1.202(huge changes) i do not think the trainers been updated yet

Firstly Let me point out there is no help for Pirated versions.

Secondly why on earth are you bringing up Terraria in a ME2 issue.

Thirdly Origin exe of ME2 is different to the Steam version. I advise you to taking the ME2 Origin key and adding it to steam. It should work.

Is there anyway for me to run the trainer when using the Origin version of the game? I keep getting the 'Trainer cannot find game' message and it is really driving me nuts

I would prefer not to buy the whole game from steam again if possible

    Renaming the Exe file.

Spectronyx posted a step by step guide for how to do it in the post below, and it worked just fine for several players. If it doesn't work for you, ME2 will no doubt be in Steam's Summer Sale once again.
    --------------------------------

Ok, for all those of you who don't understand what the renaming fix process is, allow me to give you a step-by-step. Go to your Binaries folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries

In said folder you have 4 file types that you will need. First are the MassEffect2.exe and MassEffect2.par files. Delete both of these.

Next rename your ME2Game.exe and .par files to MassEffect2.exe and MassEffect2.par.

Run your new MassEffect2.exe as admin and presto! It works with the trainer.

Essentially you are replacing the MassEffect2 game files with the ME2Game files.

Also, for future reference, if you are having trouble with your game starting, delete the MassEffect2.exe file, and your MassEffect2Config.exe file. Go to your origin ME2 game and repair/install a fresh game. (This will only re-download those game files that you are missing ie. MassEffect2.exe, ME2Game.exe and MassEffect2Config.exe). Simply redo the whole renaming process and you're good to go once again. It's a real shame we need to go through all that just to get a work-around to run the game thanks to Origin's laziness.

How long ago did he post this? Tried this fix, origin couldn't find the .par file and declared the game not installed...? Could be that origin prevented this from happening a while ago

I'm sure it's been over a year now. Toki suggested taking the ME2 Origin key and adding it to steam.

Beyond that I don't know what else to suggest. The trainer is five years old now and the last time I played the Steam version was last August so I can't even say for sure if it still works for the Steam version.
