is the console the little bit at the bottom of the screen where u can type stuff if so i have tried putting in codes i.e player.item 0013e449 and nothing happens can anyone please help

You have to enter the amount of the item after the example you gave for ammos. Armors and weapons (not ammo), you need to enter the amount as well as the condition too. Example

Ammo: player.additem ******** 2000 (2000 being the amount)

Armor/weapons: Player.additem ******** 1 100 (1 = amount & 100 = 100% condition [completely repaired so to speak] of item)
