    The command is

    Setally factionID factionID2 0/1 0/1

    The two faction ID's of the two factions of course you wanna make chummy with each other, the two 0/1 switches are for 0 = Ally 1 = Friend

    [Edited by DABhand, 10/24/2010 9:41:12 AM]

    Or if you meant factions relations with your Player.

    The command is either.

    SetReputation FactionID 0/1 #

    0/1 = 0 for minus rep and 1 for positive rep
    # = amount of rep to give

    Or with

    player.SetReputation FactID 0/1 #

    You can also use AddReputation the same way.

    [Edited by DABhand, 10/24/2010 9:43:38 AM]

    But what are the faction ID'S

    Faction ID's are codes just like weapons, items etc.:

    Boomers = 000FFAE8
    Brotherhood = 0011E662
    Caesar's Legion = 000F43DD
    Followers (of the Apocalypse) = 00124AD1
    Great Khans = 0011989B
    NCR = 000F43DE
    Novac = 00129A79
    Powder Gangers = 001558E6
    The Strip = 00118F61

    For example I used "player.setreputation 000F43DE 1 1000" (without the quotes ofc.) meaning that the NCR's should adore me. In pipboy it says that they idolize me, but in game actually they are hostile. Even if the game is glitched and somehow I got bad rep changing values manually should set things right again. Therefore there must be some other value or thing that makes them hostile towards me.

    First Post!!! Thought I could kind of help out..

    Only method I have found to work as it should.. is:

    AddReputation FactID 0/1 #

    BUT! the key is that # can only be 1-5.. 1 slowly adds rep and 5 should advance you to the next level every time..

    Hopefully this is helpful.. setreputation is just wack I don't know how it works...

    EDIT: Actualy 5 won't advance you everytime.. takes two of the commands to go up one level for some factions.

    Well I got over couple of problems. First with the NCR and NCR rangers. I just killed all the legion at the Cottonwood Crove (poison barrels) and hey presto NCR started to like me. Also while doing the ED-E quest, part where you jave to go to BoS bunker the brotherdood was hostile too. Loaded savegame where save was just outside the bunker and reentered - this time no hostility. Goddammit the relations sh*t is broken and game seems randomly turn on hostility. Thtakinda thing can ruin tens of hours of gameplay.

    And by the way guess what - even if using the rep. cheat it actually never works, it just says and shows in pipboy that the faction should be friendly but in reality if the faction has become hostile they stay hostile.

    So to everyone - be very careful in key momenst and have different save states in case the game fu*ks you over.

    The cheat works for me, but first I remove their hostility as the cheats say..lowering my infamy, and then making them love me, it usually takes about 3-4 times using the cheat at the maximum level of 5 to remove the infamy and then about 3-4 to make them idolize me..maybe more. But, it works. The only flaw I had with the cheat code was I was in the wastelands when I did the cheat and some NCR outside of a base and in the wastelands were still hostile, but once I went into McCarran they loved me.

    Hmm, what do you mean you first remove infamy and then add fame??? Isn't it like so that you just add fame and the box pops up saying that now youre neutral/accepted/idolized.

    Today again relation problems. Did the NCR rangers quest where you have to visit like 5 rangers encampements and give them new frequency codes. I was through 4 camps and everyting was fine. Had only 1 left to do and thats the one close to vault 22. So after the 4'th camp I fast traveled near vault 22 - dind't kill anyone between etc. Since I got to vault door first I decided to do the vault quest (for BoS) first - theres only mutated bugs inside. After the vault ranger camp is hostile again and all other ranger camps too. Oh and if I'm going to the legion fort they are not hostile, even if I'm wearing NCR armor - like WTF???

    This thing is driving me insane

    No, if you have infamy..adding fame doesn't give you those liked rankings. You get a more neutral ranking. Like tolerated for instance, though I don't think that's an actual one. Just replace add with remove, then do the code for the group and 0 then 5 for how much you wish to remove..0 is for infamy, so you can get rid of /all/ their hate for you.

    Also, if you get NCR armor you should blend in as one of their troops and they won't attack, the same should be for legion .. I think in all cases, unless you're female. I haven't tested that yet. Khans will think you're one of them if you dress as one..Fiends too to my knowledge..the Powder Gangers won't if you dress as one but they won't know who you are, as they weren't hostile to me.

    Waaaait ma minute...So are the fame and infamy two different values? Like even though I may have good reputation but if I also have bad then the good isn't preventing them from attacking me? Well okey, that still doesn't explain why the hell reputation changes so suddenly without doing anything to affect it. Should the remove infamy command look something like this: player.removereputation facID 0 5 - zero meaning that its infamy value? Gonna try it.

    BTW do crimson carvan fall under NCR since its faction ID is not listed?

    EDIT: Tried the code, yeah the pipboy head pops up in the corner and says that the infamy is reduced but even if I spam it in values on 5 like 10 times which should be well enough they are still hostile. I just don't get it. Do I have to do it in certain location like in the area where it should affect NPC's or in the other faction area?
