Fallout: New Vegas Message Board  

I will keep people posted if Fallout 3 console ~ cheats will work on New Vegas... I am almost certain they will. I will keep you all posted though.

UPDATE (OLD CODES ALL STILL WORK!)

yes guys all the old codes work from fallout 3... the god mode (tgm) and bottle caps (player.additem 000000F [number]).. etc etc.

what i don't know yet is if it disables steam achievements... lemme know if someone figures it out before me.

UPDATE 2 (CHEATS DISABLE STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS)
Well i just confirmed that these console code cheats disable steam achievements.

I tried getting the "new kid - reach 10th level" achievement (twice now) ... once with god mode on... and once with god mode off... both times it would not trigger the steam achievement (I used the "advlevel" cheat to do it.. figuring i can manually creep up on the level to trigger it.. didn't work)

I also restarted steam just to make sure it didn't trigger it and delay in showing me the result.

UPDATE 3 (ONE LAST ATTEMPT TO GET ACHIEVEMENTS & CHEATS - FAILED AGAIN)

well that is confirmation 3 for me... and I thought i was going to get around the achievement problem with this one.

What I did was "advlevel" myself to lev 9... then used the "getxpfornextlevel" command.... they show me the xp i need to ding up... i then use the "rewardxp #" command... with just 1 xp short of level worth of xp... I go out and kill a wolf to level up.

I figured this would trigger my level 'normally' using pure ingame mechanics to get my 10th level and trick the achievement into working... Well i guess the code is looking for more than that... my guess is the game itself detects if you use console commands and disables all achievements. (not surprised I guess)

It is pretty late and i am sure I haven't thought of everything yet... but if anyone gets a brilliant idea as a work around for this please let me know... this game without console command cheats is .. well... not going to be as fun.. even with a trainer I love my console command cheats on this game to make perfect characters.

UPDATE 4 (ACHIEVEMENT BLOCK IS ONLY SAVE SPECIFIC - NOT GAME SPECIFIC)
If you save the game after you cheated from that point forward you can't ever get achievements again. However, if you go back to a save game before you used your 1st command console cheat... than you will still get achievements.

Thanks to steam I can look forward to about 3 hours of install time. Guess I won't be playing it tonight.

why didnt you preload the game ?

i had to change my isp for a moment to US so i could unlock and decrypt game files so i can play now , its the 19th here in australia 6.20pm . I wasnt waiting till its Aus release date on fri lol

all codes work... lemme know if someone finds out before me if these codes disable steam acheivments.. if i find out 1st i will post it.

I hope you are able to find out about the FO3 Cheats and if they will work! GOODLUCK!!
If you here anything about the codes for items and weapons for
NEW VEGAS please let me know, obviously those would be different from FALLOUT 3.
