Game buddy of mine said he got crashes at the end of the battle.
And that the "game crashing' thread at the Paradox forums is currently one of the most active threads does tell me enough.....best to hold off for now.

Same, very buggy game. So shameful of the developers to push this game out to make quota with this many bugs. It shouldn't be this buggy considering the engine is from the old King Arthur role playing wargame, you would think they polished out that engine before Lionheart kings crusade used it.

I agree, I have the steam version and could not get passed the first mission (tried 3 times) without a crash to desktop.
Then I stumbled onto a replacement launcher binary made (i think) by a player who had the same issue.
I know. I was weary at first too that it was a virus or trojan, it still might be. But I decided to take a chance and download it. All I can say for sure is that I have now conquered 3 of the regions in one sitting (i.e. with no crashes at all). As far as I can tell it is legit. I found it on the forums (www.lionheartthegame.com/ wich lead to paradoxplaza.com).
The message link is forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?502649-Game-crashing/page2 (scroll down to the post by EagleFMJ).
I did not put back the old launcher as suggested at first (original launcher crashes in other missions too it seems) btw.
Note that I did not make this file, nor am I even sure it is not a trojan or what not. It did not set of any alarms on my up to date Panda AV 2011 with heuristic scanning, for whatever that's worth. In short, use at your own risk
Note also that the trainers here will not recognize the game with this launcher (well they did not for me anyway) so you can only use the console cheats. See posts here for those. Come to think of it I only tried it with the steam version of the trainer...
edit: I have just done a second sitting with 4 more regions captured and several of the side quests (some of which also involve combat) and all still 100% crash free. There are still some other bugs (none sofar that crash the game completely though) but on the whole it has been very stable. Quite amazing really.

Crashes during first mission. kinda annoying.
An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest. I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
