Darksiders: Wrath of War Message Board  

This is not a trainer issue. Not a horse issue either as it happened to me before i got the horse. Also, it is a big issue, since you cant progress the game without the use of crossblade and later the hook and teleporter stuff.

Empty hand/unable to select crossblade or anything else for a secondary weapon, can easily be fixed, although your save games will be lost

Correct me if I'm wrong but the earlier mentioned fix (chaos form - enter it and press + or - on your numpad) should solve the problem of not being able to equip anything.
As for the "empty hand" problem, are you saying that the only way to fix it is to start over the game on a new save?

The chaos form didn't solve it for me, believe me i hated to go again when i was already on the way to the third boss, but desperate times...

So yeah, had to apply the fix and then a new game.

See , i started normally with v1.0 then v1.1 came up and i updated...This resulted in losing my saved game and so i started over again with v1.1...Now i've stuck for over 3 weeks in this godamned place after tiamat,unable to use my crossblade...I LITERALLY tried everything even the "chaos" form thing>>DOESN'T WORK..Sweeped through tons of forums and pages , even posted this Link online for a DAMN solution..but nothing at all..WHAT IS GOING ON ?

I was going crazy thinking the chaos mode was not helping me either with my no-equip problem with Mercy. Then I found an additional detail somewhere else, stating that while in chaos mode, change to the ranged weapon that is stuck, vs. changing to the one that isn't working, then exit chaos mode. e.g. if the only middle-button weapon that is working is the crossblade, and you can't equip mercy, switch to chaos mode, change the middle-button weapon to the crossblade, then exit chaos mode. Mercy is now able to be equipped. I was about to uninstall this game until I found that workaround.

To make matters worse, I was stuck at the first worm boss fight with no Mercy, and you can't switch to Chaos mode on that level. Luckily I had a save game that was 1 hour previous, so it wasn't too terrible to backtrack.

I had this problem too. And I spent 3 hours looking for a solution. Still, my last save was 6 hours ago. Oh and there is another way to enter Chaos mode: Caps Lock + Middle Mouse Button. It's only mentioned in the game once, and nowhere else.

It wasn't much fun to play through all of it again, but update + new save did the trick.
