I am still using IE9. My trainers work for all my other games just not Dead Rising 2 for STEAM.
Are you using the 1.06.2011 trainer? That is the trainer you need for the steam version. It's the second one down, the first trainer (7.04.11) will crash the game.
Hope that may help out.
I've tried the newest 07.04.2011 and the one before that 01.06.2011 nether work. 07.04.2011 Trainer Keeps Crashing the game and 01.06.2011 Crashes as soon as you click on it.
So anymore bright ideas on how to get a trainer that works.
I using a digital download from gamefly.
download the game from steam
no other suggestion will work
Yeah I think asking someone to use a different Operating System to use a trainer is a bit extreme. Less of an issue is being required to downgrade their web-browser, but still not something I'd be willing to do, especially as this trainer is still marked as "Active", and obviously the Steam trainer needs an update.
I think if you read the whole thread you'd understand better what's happening with this one trainer. It's a long thread though so I'll sum it up.
The developers of Dead Rising 2 for some reason rolled back the steam version. The latest version 07.04.2011 patch doesn't exsist any more. Some people have searched for it and can't find it. (I can only speak of the steam version, I know nothing of the retail.) So, you need the trainer 01.06.2011
The issue is when windows 8 and ie 10 came out they changed certain files around that were used with the trainers. At least if you have windows 7 you can roll back to ie 9. I don't have enough technical info but there was a certain .dll file that got changed or modified.
Caliber has stated in this thread that they can't update 01.06.2011 trainer to be windows 8 compatable. It's a pain for those with ie 10 but you can blame the devopers for rolling back the version number. And for not releasing the 07.04.2011 so people could download it. Maybe Caliber can comment on why he can't make the 01.06.2011 windows 8 compatable. Maybe he's very busy with all the beta trainers and new releases.
I would really hate to see this retired. It's an old game, yes but hopefully it will get patched so GFWL is removed. If it is not patched it will no longer work since it verifies with GFWL every time you play it. And GFWL is patched out, I am hoping if the trainer stays active Caliber may be appealed to to update the trainer.
