at the end of chapter 5, after getting 2k from henry when you can pay off vito's old man's debt, after paying that off, in chapter six when you learn of vito's mother passing away, i had $5000+ left over from the previous chapter that went towards to funeral.

First the two thousand was to pay off your father's debt to the loan shark. And where may I ask did you get five thousand? Did you crush a LOT of cars? Did you rob a lot of stores??? the most I had was around two thousand after I gave the money to Frankie.

absolutely! I crushed cars before and after every chapter from chapter 2 on, nothing big, just whatever mike had lying around, there were usually a car and a pickup there, which generally amounted to $800+ every time i did this, multiply by the number of times i did it per chapter and you get the idea, the only problem is that since it only saves the money made after the sucessful completion of a mission.

i was going start over again since i beat the game last night and try earn up money doing side jobs and robs places so that money don't go in on the fathers dept?

no, even if you make 2 grand or more before chapter 5, you can't pay off vito's old man's debt till the end of chapter 5 when henry pays you. and all money you made besides that is yours. It's kind've pointless though, as you lose it all right away in the next chapter when you go to prison.
