I purchased and download Grand Ages of Rome from D2D as I often do with most of my games anymore, and things are great. I enjoy the game, and it had a really good tutorial. So I decided I would go ahead and download the expansion pack Augustus. It was then I was told that the game was not sold here in the States and could not be through D2D. They explained they really didn't know why some companies did this but the companies in question did.
So I went to the home page Kalypso itself to download the game, assuming I could possibly get it here. My credentials were ok'd my debit card passed with no problem and everything seemed fine. Then when I hit the button to begin the down load it started then stopped, saying it could not find Grand Age of Rome on my HD. "Please put in the correct disk or type in right path," which I did, and still it would not recognize the path. I even tried downloading and using their downloader, even though the one from Direct 2 Drive is one of the best I ever used, and still nothing. In fact the downloader said something about bad something or other. Anyhow I wrote the company and have been assured that, as soon as they have the time they will look into the matter. In the meantime I have $29.95 or probably more in English pounds tied up in a game I might never get. I can only hope the Brits will show me away to get the expansion to work with the D2D download, or refund the money to my debit card. I think they will but in todays world you never know. I might have been ok had I downloaded both games Grand Age and Augustus from Kalypso but didn't know it at the time. Anyone else intending to get both games get both of these from the home page. I certainly will be glad when Wal-Mart gets the new Super Wal-Mart in operation next fall. Then maybe I can find some games locally instead of having to depend on ordering or downloading these.
