I've been waiting to for a review on this game by cheathappens, and I completely agree about the interface sucking. While yes the game doesn't explain much to you, is it really too much to ask to us to use our brains, and/or Google to find out such things? Most gamers complain about games being to simple or not having enough depth, but when presented with something difficult start griping even more. Figuring things out is what makes a game fun! I thought the combat system was alright, compared to Gothic 4 at least, it's been some time since I've played this game so i cant really remember it too well, but i know for sure i wasn't annoyed by it, neither the magic or the melee side of it. This game has it's pitfalls, but overall is a good game, and one of the better games to be released in quite some time for the RPG genre, not quite on the level of Mass Effect 2 or Dragon's Age, but still close.

For me personally, the appeal of a game come largely in whether I would play it through a second (or even third time). A stand out example is Dragon Age Origins where you could select different races and sexes and have a different outcome every time. Unfortunately TW2 isn't one of them. Without giving away any of the plot, I was enjoying this and would have given it an 8 out of 10, and then the last 5 minutes dragged it down to a 5 if not a 4. The story if you hadn't played Two Worlds 1 is sketchy and very one dimensional but what little there was did manage to get you moving from one area to the next and interact with NPC's along the way. Such as it was, the story was OK, but IMHO the atrocious ending ruined a potentially great game. The open environment is fantastic and the energy and effort that went into creating this world and the different areas was outstanding, from blackened burnt out ruins to the coastal areas, water and ocean. And there were some good tries as well, specifically the horses and sailing boats that handled the wind and reacted as you would expect in real life. Where this fell down for me was in the story, but particularly in the interaction of the NPC's. Where DAO was so polished, this felt like something cobbled together with no thought of how the game player would interact or appreciate it. Putting all that aside, there are other redeeming features, as I said the open environment, and graphics are great, sounds and music such as they are aren't great, but don't detract either, (apart from the vendors yelling out the same thing). I liked the crafting a lot and upgrading items. That you could strip down an item into it's constituent components and then use them in another item was great. I would like to see other games incorporate this. Overall this gets a Sidewinder (Fire and Forget) Missile award. You load it play it through once, then uninstall it to make room on your hard-drive for the next game that comes along.

I bought the game, and have played it for several hours now. Even with the trainers functions, this game can still be hard. There is just one minor problem i am having, i dont know if thats supposed to happen, but from the first moment i have been playing i have been hearing this annoying sound as if its someone ringing the church bell all the time... BONG.... BONG.... BONG.... (and it keeps doing that no matter how often i restart. If that wasnt in the game, i would definately finish playing it. but this is really going on my nerves.
