This game is not open world, if it was open world there would be kilometers of space to run around like the original crysis was, this is just a console port which shows the limitations of consoles by not giving us an actual OPEN WORLD like the original crysis did.Graphic wise though it is very nice I will agree with that, not im pressed with the AI, it is either hit or miss with the AI. And the AI is still buggy with the new patches. Still waiting for the SDK to see what some people can make. And honestly it seems like the dumbed down the suit options, not really a fan of that. And I really did not see "alot" of customization other than what was part of the original Crysis, the suit upgrades were a nice touch but they could have implemented some better ones. Overall yes it is a good game, but not a great game, I expected the original Crysis open world to be improved when all I got was a strictly Linear game telling me where I can go.

"Set in a lush open world".
What? Is the review for Crysis 1? This Crysis 2, aka Crysis of Duty, is just another CoD clone, very much on-rails gameplay. Granted, there's some left and right choices, but we're talking a few meters away from the central path. It also sports some nice pointers and arrows showing you were the ammo is, and where you should jump to outsmart the average clever AI. So you won't "get lost" in the already cramped levels, or ever have any thoughts of your own on what to do next. It is thus VERY child / moron friendly. Nice.
So if you like CoD, you'll love this. If you loved Crysis 1, you'll wonder what went wrong.
And avoid multiplay for now, unless you're into cheating (or like being cheated on). It has apparently no code against cheating whatsoever. It's the worst I have ever experienced. By a very long mile. And it's not the usual less-than-average skilled players yelling HAXXOR at everyone better than them, this is blatant, open and acknowledged cheating.
The MP gameplay is extremely fast and furious. The maps are small and swarming with enemies. There's a lot of equipment and stuff to upgrade and use, but hardly anyone ever does. Just the main rifle, extra ammo and a red dot sight. You spawn, you die. Sometimes you manage to shoot, or even cloak and move a little in between the two. Try to switch to a grenade, or a launcher, or shotgun, any secondary weapon, and you're most often already dead. Most often, like in other similar games, you die while reloading, and you usually empty a clip at any enemy to score a kill. In short, MP is also a very different beast from Crysis 1. Not much tactical options, no time to plan and execute, no vehicles, not much teamplay. [Edited by Fawkrin, 4/5/2011 2:59:35 PM]

well everybody has an opinion...ofcourse they're entitled to it. they could've done this...they could've done that...blah blah blah...i don't think there's such a thing as perfection...i don't think any game can claim to be. the point is...to have fun...to be entertained...if a game does that..its cool. Crysis 2 did that for me. best Crysis ever for me. pretty good review Joe.

personnaly I don't know why people hate this game. It's graphics are brilliant and gameplay challenging. I agree that the areas should be more spacous like crysis 1 but look at the positive side and a whole new aspect comes into play. reallistic areas, damage, difficulty and etc.. As i said the areas should be more open but as for MP, I really like the fact that you get a "death cam" that re-plays your death. The nice thing about the console is that you cant cheat in MP. It also really helps to to get the limeted Edition because you start on level 5.
